This school magazine above ‘Caterhamian’ is a very modern magazine. They use a unique format by putting pictures in individual boxes with not a lot of writing on it so that way when students read it they don’t automatically feel bored of the magazine but more willing and attracted to read it. The images are also very important to this magazines cover because they advertise the school it makes the school look like an interesting and lively school. The Caterhamian School have chosen to use bright eye-catching colours to attract students and others to it. They have used the slogan ‘Education for life’ to show how the importance of education to the school and life. Whereas the ‘FFH’ school magazine is completely different format. It has much more writing and just 1 main image in the centre of the students looking up (a bird’s eye view image) this image gives the idea that the school has a friendly environment and a sports school the use of the colour green is a male colour maybe symbolising the theme of athletics and sports. FFH also has a list of articles at the bottom of the page trying to attract the eyes of the students to see from just the front page what they would like to read.
Both magazines are completely different in the format and amount of text that they have used but both f them are effective in what the message they are trying to convey is. Me personally prefer the ‘Caterhamian’ because it is unique and simple but effective with not much font at the front just words so it is not overpowering.
